Show of the Year? : Squid Game Review

The show that has taken the world by storm over social media over the past few weeks, Squid Game.. The show draws you into an epic conclusion and gives you an attachment towards phenomenal characters truly makes you feel like you’re in main character Gi-hun (Lee Jung-Jae) shoes. Gi-hun joins a game with 456 other players where only one can win the huge prize pool of 45.6 billion won (38,307,898.80 million US dollars). The people chosen for this game are all in large amounts of debt and have nowhere else to go with their life, winning this game will change their lives forever. There is one main question surrounding the show, “Is your life worth all of that money”? This game is shown to be brutal, you mostly follow the characters Gi-hun , Sae-Byeok (HoYeon Jung), Cho Sang-Woo (Park Hae Soo), Oh Il-nam (Yeong-su Oh) and many others. This show gives you so many twists and turns along the way, that you would never expect. The ending to this show is satisfying and leaves you ready for more! The director of this show Hwang Dong-hyuk originally wrote the script for Squid Game back in 2009 but after many rejections and a Coronavirus outbreak postponing the show, finally Netflix accepted this product and released it out to the public this year. The final product is an excellent show, and a must watch.
