This past Friday another encounter in the storied “Battle of Hawkins Creek”, took place. This go around the Panthers were able to hit on all cylinders and blew out the Roughnecks, 48 to 14. The week leading up to this game was full of excitement which is expected when these two rivals go against each other. Spring Hill was able to strike first during the first quarter. White Oak would answer with a touchdown of their own on the next possession. The first quarter would continue to be a close contest, this would continue till the end of the half, which would see the Panthers have a two touchdown lead.  The two touchdown lead would grow even bigger as the second half went on, resulting in a 34 point victory for the Panthers. Starting quarterback Jax Stovall would complete 12 out of 23 pass attempts for 164 yards and 4 touchdowns. Sophomore Julius Hawkins had the bulk of the rushing yards for the Panthers. Hawkins carried the ball 15 times for 103 yards and a touchdown. Davaunte Powers also had 2 rushing touchdowns. Brennan Ferguson had majority of the receiving yards yet again, with 82 yards and 2 touchdowns. Nic Alexander and Ryan McClain both had 1 receiving touchdown as well. The Panthers defense was all over the Roughnecks offense, totaling 14 tackles, with Cameron Webb leading the way with 3 tackles. Favour Otujor and Matthew Martin had 2 tackles each. This would be the 52nd meeting between the two teams, and Spring Hill would be victorious for the 4th year in a row.  After the devastating loss, White Oak will look to bounce back against New Diana this Friday, and after a dominating victory for the Panthers they will continue their homestand against Henderson this Friday.
