After an unexpected schedule change, forcing the Panthers to pick up a new opponent, this being Brook Hill Guard, the Panthers were still able to rally together and earn a hard fought victory. Brook Hill stood their ground and kept it all knotted up at 14 each at the end of the first half, they even jumped out to a 3 point lead halfway through the third. However the Panthers were able to string together back to back touchdown drives and were able to stop the late game surge by Brook Hill. This would lead to Spring Hill winning the game 28-25. The main story of last Friday’s game was the comeback of starting quarterback Jax Stovall. He stepped right in to the role and hit the ground running. Stovall would complete 15 out of the 24 pass attempts for 189 yards. Throughout this he was able to complete one touchdown pass as well. The brother tandem of Davaunte and Keondre Powers would both score one touchdown each. Brennan Ferguson and Jordan Hodges also each had a touchdown.Ferguson would also round up 117 yards receiving. Favour Otujor and Brooks Hill would come up big for the Panthers on defense. As Otujor had 6 tackles, and Hill had 5. Despite a sloppy game from Brook Hill as they were 10 for 23 on passing and they were also picked off three times, the Guard were able to keep it a close game till the fourth. After notching their first win in the win column, the Panthers will turn right around and take on the White Oak Roughnecks, in their homecoming game this Friday. Brook Hill will look to bounce back as they go on the road to take on the 2-0 Tenaha Tigers.
