The 8th grade Panther volleyball team closed the door on the competition Saturday, October 26, by winning the Spring Hill tournament. After a season of growth and determination, Coach Tyler and her girls defeated Gilmer, Kilgore, and Henderson to earn the title as District Champions. This is promising news for new Lady Panther High School Head coach, Andrew Harbison, who is building a legacy program for the district and set his sights early on starting in the Junior High.

At the parent meeting in August, Harbison told parents that Varsity teams are made from hard work and putting in the hours in the early, formative years.

“We are one team,” Harbison said. “We win together, we lose together. I am here for you all- junior high or high school. We are #BetterinBlue.”

Monday, October 28 brought all junior high volleyball play to an end with all teams adding to the “W” column against district rival Bullard. 7th grade teams both showed significant improvement throughout the season, with many joining club teams during the off season to keep their hands on the ball.

Look for great things to come next year for both junior high and high school teams.
