Spring Hill quarterback Gage White looks to lead their team down the field against Bullard, on Friday,September 6th.

A close battle was in store last friday night, as it was Panthers vs Panthers. An outstanding comeback was capped off with Tristen Shewmake’s second touchdown of the night halfway through the 4th. Which in turn put the game away for Bullard, with a score of 36-28. However this was a hard fought game from the opening kick off.

Spring Hill started off the scoring with Gage White connecting with Zach Henry on a 26-yard reception for a touchdown, with only 1.8 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Spring Hill tried for the two point conversion, but ended up short of it.

With 9:26 left in the second quarter, White threw his second touchdown pass of the night, this time connecting with Jay Rockwell. Again the Panthers tried to go for 2, but failed again. Spring Hill lead 12-0.

Bullard gets into the mix just 3 minutes later with a 50-yard bomb thrown to Nic Hooley, which in turn ended with a touchdown. Bullard converted the two point conversion, Bullard shortly behind Spring Hill 8-12.

Back and forth the two panthers teams went. Devante Powers scored a one yard touchdown, giving them a 20-8 lead. With 1:17 left before the half, Shewmake fumbles in the endzone, and a teammate comes to the rescue and recovered it. The PAT was good from Moore, which made it a close game going into the half, at 20-15 Spring Hill.

Bullard raced out into the front for the first time of the game with 9:38 in the third, with a 40 yard Shewmake touchdown, and a Moore PAT, Bullard was in the lead 22-20.

Spring Hill regained the lead however when Logan Hutchins scooped up a fumble and returned for 76 yards. Whites connection to Henry for the two point conversion gave the Panthers a 28-22 lead with 4:06 remaining in the third.

However Bullard drives down 59 yards and regained the lead with Latrez Young’s 2-yard run for 2 points, with only 1:36 left in the 3rd. Finally Shewmake iced the game with an 8-yard touchdown run halfway through the 4th.

This loss puts Spring Hill at 0-2, and improves Bullard to 1-1. The Panthers look to bounce back and take on White Oak this upcoming Friday, September 13th, in White Oak.
