The Panther Press will be selling Candy-Grams beginning February 4th. Each Gram can be customized and hand delivered to your Valentine on February 14th during 4th or 5th period. Grams include stuffed animals, chocolates, and personalized cards.

“This is a great way to say, ‘You are Loved’, to friends, teachers, mentors and your sweetheart,” Amy Blalock, Journalism teacher said.

These treats will allow the journalism department to give the school community an opportunity to share a positive message to one another and make extra money as well.

“I thought this fund-raiser would be fun and include the whole school. Since items are only $2 each, they are affordable for everyone,” Blake Everett, editor of The Panther’s Paw said.

Everett suggested the idea during a brainstorming session in class last week. Principal Rusty Robinett gave the okay and students got busy selecting items and cards. Each advanced journalism student will help sell, fill orders, and deliver the Valentines gifts. But, most importantly, students will also learn marketing skills and promote sales of The Panther, the yearbook and readership to The Panther’s Paw, the online newspaper.

“We hope this event helps to raise our visibility in the school community. We hope everyone takes advantage or this fun-raiser beginning February 4th,”Blalock said.
